ANNOUNCEMENTS....
** A Word for Our Visitors …
We are a Bible-focused congregation that strives to live by the words and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you would like to know about activities in the church, feel free to stop in the office for more information.
If you are visiting for the first time, we hope that you will return.
If you have been here for a few of our services and would like to consider joining our church, Rev. Mike would be glad to talk with you about this during the coffee time.
** MARCH MISSION OF THE MONTH ~ United Methodist Community Center—Warren Site ~
The Warren area Community Center programs are designed to mentor female and male students. Activities provide opportunities to promote educational goals, self-esteem, good character, and positive social relationships. The Center partners with the Warren Family Court to provide a Truancy Intervention Program. It provides advocacy, and resources for up to 50 students and their families in grades K-12. The FunFit Center offers yoga, karate, and open gym.
** Helping Hands - We are blessed to have a number of Sunday school classes, each of which has its own God-given characteristics and energy. These classes are some of the groups within our larger congregation that serve as the avenues for discussion, learning, support, and friendships.
After a great deal of prayer and discussion, we have decided to add a new 10:45 Sunday school class that will start March 14. This class, called Helping Hands, will be led by Edie Boles and Kelli Harding. They will meet in the sanctuary and will include some of the praise and worship music that had been part of the 11:15 service.
It is our hope that this will be an entry point for those who are new to the faith, those who have a lot of questions about faith, and those who are returning to the faith. It is open to all ages.
** Meals on Wheels - No homebound Senior Citizen in our area should go without a daily nutritious meal. If you are an older adult with an illness or disability that prevents you from providing a nourishing meal for yourself, please call us. We will deliver a hot meal and a bag lunch each day, five days a week, Monday through Friday. Our area covers New Waterford, Columbiana, Leetonia, and Washingtonville.
We also need additional drivers. Columbiana Area Meals on Wheels 330-482-0366
** Spring Rummage Sale - The Finance Committee of the Church is sponsoring a Spring Rummage Sale to benefit the Ministry Operating Fund of the Church. Plans are in the very beginning state and it will not materialize without volunteers. This will be a 2 day event scheduled for Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1.
This is what we are looking for:
· A group to volunteer to plan, prepare and serve a lunch 11:30 to 1:30 on Friday. This can be whatever you want, soup and sandwich or soup and salad, etc.
· A group of people to organize a trash and treasure sale, including pricing, arranging, unpacking, packing, gathering, and disposing. They will need to formulate special sale plans for Saturday.
· We need a group to gather used clothing including pricing, folding and displaying as well as helping with disposing. They will need to formulate special sale plans for Saturday.
· We need a group to do advertising and promotion.
· We need a group or individual to cook hot dogs on the grill to sell on Saturday, along with canned soda.
· We need someone to organize and staff a bake sale on Friday or Saturday also if they choose.
We plan to run the sale on Friday from 9 AM - 2 PM along with a lunch from 11:30 - 1:30. On Saturday it will run 9 AM - 12 and we will have a special half-price or bag sale to help clear things out.
If you can help with this fund raiser, please contact Joyce Ward, Denise Webber, or Kay Crook. When we get enough interested people we will have an organizational meeting to get things rolling.
** Recycle Cell Phones - The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center is recycling cell phones as a fund raiser and also to help the environment. If you have old cell phones that you don't need any more, please see Kathy Cattrell or put them in the basket in the coat room.
** 4C’s Update - Please pick a grocery bag from the table in the hallway by the mission’s board. It has a list attached of needed items, so you can take it with you to the grocery store and load the items right in the bag when you check out.
